BUILD started BUILD Mobility in 2019 under Kasey Evans, then a BUILD partner, to invest in electric-vehicle and mobility technology. In October 2021 BUILD Mobility became Lane VC, an independent venture firm led by Evans. BUILD holds a minority stake.
Lane's portfolio includes Vanderhall, the Utah maker of the all-electric Brawley off-road vehicle.
